It’s Monday! And that means it’s time for your weekly dose of all the great Gaming Memorabilia news from this past week

A few smaller events happened this past week, but those yielded few announcements on the merchandise front. Rather, we’ve seen a push to wrap up the third quarter of 2017 with some strong figure lineups and collectors statues from some of the bigger names.  We see a few more Destiny pieces which are riding the (hopeful) success of Destiny 2 and quite a lot of heroines come to life in figure and statue form. As usual, lots to talk about this week, so let’s get started!

HATSUNE MIKU – 10TH ANNIVERSARY WALKMAN AND WIRELESS PORTABLE SPEAKER

Who remembers the Walkman? Well apparently, it’s still a thing. And last Wednesday marked the release of this awesome 10th Anniversary Hatsune Miku lineup from Sony. The collaboration opens up to three available Walkman models: Hatsune Miku, Kagamine Rin & Len, and Megurine Luka in Viridian Blue, Lime Yellow, and Bordeaux Pink, respectively. Each of the models is engraved with original design by iXima, and come with original case of the same design.  All models come with 16 GB storage, and will be pre-installed with each character’s voice track in high-resolution audio. The wireless portable speaker is offered in Viridian Blue, and engraved with an original design.

FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S – CONSTRUCTION SETS

McFarlane toys has released the details of its newest wave of Five Nights at Freddy’s Construction Sets. They’ll feature builds from the entire world including the Control Module, Private Room, Scooping Room, Paper Pals Party, Left Dresser and Door, Office Hallway, Grandfather Clock and The Party Wall. There’s been a lot of FNAF merchandise since the game hit the mainstream, but this is easily one of the best lines we’ve seen!

STREET FIGHTER – CHUN-LI BATTLE COSTUME BISHOUJO STATUE (1/7 SCALE)

That’s right, folks – it’s another Bishoujo statue from manufacturing giant, Kotobukiya. The piece was revealed back at San Diego Comic-Con 2017, but this past week, we were given a glimpse at a bunch of photos and details. The statue stands at 9” in height and is sculpted after her Battle Costume illustration by Shunya Yamashita. It’s scheduled to hit store shelves this upcoming February, but like most Bishoujo imports – it’ll sell out quick!

MASS EFFECT: ANDROMEDA – SARA RYDER 7″ FIGURE

While the game may not have garnered the best ratings from fans; that hasn’t stopped McFarlane Toys for picking up the license to this Bioware title. This 7” figure depicts Sara Ryder, a new character to the Mass Effect Universe and twin sister of Scott Ryder (who’s already been released in the lineup). The piece comes equipped with primary Camifex Assault Rifle, alternate helmetless headpiece and stylized Mass Effect base. It hit store shelves last week, so whether or not you were a fan of the game, there’s no denying this would be an awesome addition to any game shelf.

SECRET OF MANA – COLLECTOR’S EDITION

The recent announcement of the Secret of Mana HD remake for the PS4, Vita and PC has hit the gaming world by storm. Fans are clamoring for more info, and slowly but surely, the details are trickling out of Square Enix headquarters. In Japan, a $150 Collector’s Edition has been revealed on the Square Enix Japan online store. In addition to a physical copy of the game, it comes with a soundtrack, a pop-up book, and three collectible figures. As far as bonus goodies go, no other announcements have been made for the North American release.

SHINING BLADE – ALTINA SWIMSUIT VER. (SHINING BEACH HEROINES)

The Shining Beach Heroines project is a special collaboration between HOBBY JAPAN and Sega’s popular Shining RPG series. Characters like Sakuya have already seen a Swimsuit Version, but starting Tuesday, fans will be able to get their pre-orders in for Altina Mel Sylphis. Standing at 24cm, this PVC figure will be retailing for around $120.00. Pretty standard with the lineup thus far, but there’s no denying that the detail and sculptwork has been outstanding. Particularly nice on this one is the translucent PVC used for her sarong.

FATE/EXTELLA: THE UMBRAL STAR – ALTRIA PENDRAGON RESORT VACANCES VER. (1/8 SCALE)

Continuing with the Summer beach theme, Aoshima’s Funny Knights lineup brings fans of the action game, Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, a 1/8 scale figure of Altria Pendragon. The unpainted prototype was exhibitied back at the 56 Shizuoka Hobby Show, followed by the painted prototype at Wonder Festival 2017 Summer, but the final product is even more stunning! She’s sculpted from her popular costume from the Resort Vacances DLC and in a dynamic pose that’s sure to look great on any shelf. Pre-orders went on sale on Friday, so be sure to get yours in before they sell out!

DARK SOULS – OSCAR, KNIGHT OF ASTORA STATUE (1/6 SCALE)

Another statue that made its debut during San Diego Comic-Con 2017 is now out for pre-orders, and it looks awesome! Straight from the talented Gecco in close collaboration with FromSoftware, comes this 1/6 scale Dark Souls figure, complete with Astora’s Straight Sword and Crest Shield, and standing atop a themed base. Currently retailing at $300, but as an added bonus for those who opt for the pre-order, you’ll get a 1/6 scale Crystal Lizard as well. If you’re a fan of Dark Souls, this is a must-have.

DESTINY – IRON GJALLARHORN REPLICA

Yet another entry from McFarlane Toys comes the Iron Gjallarhorn; an adult role-play replica, crafted to match the exact specifications as the iconic weapon in Destiny. It features a hand-painted design matching every detail and includes authentic in-game sounds for targeting, rocket launching, rocket detonation and residual “Wolfpack Rounds”. This piece is flagged for release this Holiday season. And if you’re a fan of Destiny, be sure to check out last week’s Merchandise Mondays for a HUGE wave of new merch!

TOUKEN RANBU – IZUMINOKAMI KANESADA (1/8 SCALE)

Orange Rouge is at it again with yet another 1/8 scale figure based on the Touken Ranbu character, Izuminokami Kanesada. This fan-favourite joins the Mikazuki Munechika entries and the Nikkari Aoe entry announced last month (which you can find in their respective Merchandise Mondays). The sculpt is modeled after his ‘standard’ appearance, with incredible detail in his layered robes. Now you may remember that we saw this unpainted prototype back at the Wonder Festival 2017 Summer, but the final product is leaps and bounds more impressive. For fans of the Touken Ranbu series, Izuminokami is up for pre-orders this week for $150.

STREET FIGHTER – COLLABORATION LINGERIE SET

A collaboration between Japanese fashion-brand, SuperGroupies, and Capcom has resulted in a small lineup of Street Fighter themed lingerie hitting shelves this week. There are two entries in the run; including the sexy Chun-Li model and the sporty Cammy model. The $90 Chun-Li version is a blue satin with embroidered gold trim and ribbons, while the $80 Cammy version is green with camo-trim and red piping. For those of you planning on ordering, expect it to show up mid-January. Hope the winters are warm where you live!

DESTINY – 7″ FIGURES

McFarlane Toys’ highly anticipated line-up of Destiny 7″ figures have finally hit stores, and just in time for the Destiny 2 release next week! There are a total of 7 entries in the run, with 4 of them being in-store exclusives. This includes Warlock Hallow Shader (GameStop Exclusive), Hunter Blacksmith Shader (Walgreens Exclusive), Hunter Million Million Shader (Walmart Exclusive), Titan Amduat Ink Shader (Target Exclusive), Iron Banner Hunter, King’s Fall Warlock and Vault of Glass Titan.

BLAZBLUE: CENTRAL FICTION – MAI NATSUME (1/8 SCALE)

Directly from the popular 2D BlazBlue: Central Fiction game, FREEing presents fans with this gorgeous 1/8 scale figure dedicated to Mai Natsume. The 26.5cm PVC figure is  sculpted in a dynamic pose using her Red Bullet: Exseal Drive, courtesy of Yadokari – and will look great on any BlazBlue fan’s shelves! With a retail release scheduled for March 2018, the $160 pre-orders went on sale Thursday!

DRAGON BALL FIGHTER Z – COLLECTORZ EDITION

Bandai Namco has revealed a premium collector’s edition for the upcoming 2-D fighting game “Dragon Ball FighterZ.” Titled CollectorZ Edition, the set will contain limited items for fans of the long-standing Japanese animated series. Inside the Collectorz box are three Art Boards, the video game “Dragon Ball FighterZ” in an Exclusive Steelbook, and a 7-inch statue of Goku in his Super Saiyan form with “manga dimension” featured coloring.

KINGDOM HEARTS II – MICKY MOUSE (S.H. FIGUARTS)

This figure of King Mickey from Kingdom Hearts II was first revealed at the Tamashii Nations 10th Anniversary World Tour event (along with Sora, Goofy and Donald Duck), and collectors have been waiting for the pics ever since. It’s not too often that Square Enix licenses their own characters out to other companies. Glad they did though! This has the potential to easily be the angriest Mickey figure you’ll ever find, so if you’re a fan of of the game or of Disney in general, you owe it to yourself to make sure this one is added to your game room shelves.

.HACK//G.U. LAST RECODE – HASEO (3RD FORM) BLACK AND WHITE FIGUARTS

Based on the upcoming remaster of the legendary PS2 title .hack//G.U., Bandai Namco bring us another 2 entries to their Figuarts Zero product line. This time we see a black version and a white version of Haseo in his 3rd form. Both figures are based on the original illustrations from legendary Gainax study founder, Yoshiyuki Sadamato, and come on an interchangeable decorative pedestal. If you were a fan of G.U., or are excited for the upcoming release this November, be sure to pick up at least one of these for your room!

Comparatively one of the larger posts in this blog series, and hopefully you’ve found it to be helpful in stocking those shelves and emptying those wallets. Which Destiny merchandise will you be picking up before the game hits store shelves? Is there a place for video-gaming in the ol’ lingerie closet? Do you still use a walkman? I want to hear all that and more over at the Cartridge Club forums!

Until next week guys, keep on gaming!
