Still on the road, so this month’s entry is gonna be trimmed down a bit – but still, tons to talk about! This includes some awesome resin cast figures from games like Altered Beast, Streets of Rage and Rent-A-Hero, some more amazing Square Enix merchandise, and a plethora of new Nendoroids.

Sorry for the rushed posting – but I promise April’s roundup will include anything I missed! As always, thanks for reading!

Figures & Statues

Altered Beast --- 1/20 Scale 'Video Game Heroes' Resin Cast Kit

I’ve only recently discovered R.C Berg Ltd. out of Japan, and am loving what I’m seeing! The resin figures themselves aren’t the highest quality, but their love of under-merchandised characters has won me over. First up, we have this set from Altered Beast – one of my personal favourites on the Sega Genesis. Hard to believe it’s 30 years old already! Looks like we got the Werewolf, the Werebear, and the Weredragon – but sadly, no Weretiger. Oh well, room for a series 2! Rise from your grave!

Fate/Grand Order --- Desktop Army Figure Line

Fate/Grand Order heroines Mash Kyrielight, Artoria Pendragon, and Jeanne d’Arc are set to become the latest recruits to Megahouse’s series of adorable super-deformed mini figures, Desktop Army! The figures are inspired by the series key visual designed by BLADE. Standing around 80 mm, the figures make use of the new Desktop Army base which adds articulation to the lumbar region but are also compatible with accessories released for previous models. In a series first, the three figures will each come with a custom clear display base. The figures also come fully armed: Mash Kyrielight with her Lord Chaldeas, Saber with Excalibur and Invisible Air, and Jeanne with Luminosité Eternelle. Each figure will also come with a limited edition postcard featuring BLADE’s key visual (one of three designs selected at random).  The Desktop Army Fate/Grand Order figures retail for 1,780 yen each and are set for release in Jul. 2018.

Fate/Grand Order --- Ishtar Nendoroid Figure

From the popular smartphone game “Fate/Grand Order” comes a Nendoroid of the Archer servant, Ishtar! Her impressive Noble Phantasm “Maanna” is included together with a number of effect parts that allow you to recreate all sorts of different poses from the game in Nendoroid size! Be sure to summon the goddess into your collection!

Fate/Grand Order --- Piyokuru Figures

The characters from Fate/Grand Order are the very first characters to be released in the new capsule toy series, Piyokuru! There are a total of six different characters to collect including Saber/Altria Pendragon, Shielder/Mash, Caster/Cu Chulainn, Main Character (Male), Main Character (Female) as well as Romani Archaman. The little eggs are designed to open up using a mechanism which requires just one quick touch in order to open up! The cute little toys can be displayed beside you and opened and closed for fun, and each also comes with a ball chain which allows it to be attached to various items allowing you to bring your favorite character with you wherever you like! Be sure to collect them all!

Final Fantasy --- Bring Arts Final Fantasy Creatures 'Odin and Sleipnir'

Another recent update from Square Enix gives us a look at their upcoming Final Fantasy Creatures – Bring Arts Odin and Sleipnir. The Bring Arts Odin and Sleipnir set is due for release in August. They are priced at $299.99.

Divinity: Original Sin II --- Original Soundtrack LP

Black Screen Records has announced that they’ve teamed up with Larian Studios to release Borislav Slavov’s incredible soundtrack to Divinity: Original Sin 2 on limited edition 180g double vinyl this April. The vinyl is pressed on high quality 180 gram vinyl, produced in Germany by Optimal Media and mastered for the format by their long-time collaborator Christian Bethge at RAMA Tonstudio.

Music aficionados will enjoy three versions:

● Remastered Original Soundtrack Ltd. Edition Red/Black Starburst Vinyl – a demon-enriched nietzschean foray into madness and chaos.

● Remastered Original Soundtrack Ltd. Edition 180g Gold Vinyl – a non-traditional gold vinyl for people who believe everything is better in gold.

● Remastered Original Soundtrack Audiophile Edition 180g – a traditional black vinyl for people who still believe colour kills sound quality.

The vinyl comes in a beautiful gatefold sleeve and is housed in full-coloured printed inner sleeves. Also included is a download code for the full digital album (42 tracks) and a 8 page piano score transcribed by the composer himself, for anyone itching to get their inner-Bard on.

Mario Kart --- Monopoly Gamer Mario Kart

Goodbye, Boardwalk; hello, Rainbow Road. Hasbro’s latest twist on Monopoly is a Mario Kart theme. And like last year’s Monopoly Gamer, it’s no simple reskin of the classic game. The game uses coins instead of dollar bills, for instance. And every time a player passes Go, they flip over a Grand Prix card (example at left), which starts a Race. Players then have the option of paying one or more coins as an entrance fee to the race. You roll a die to see who places where, and prizes are passed out according to the card. Also, on your turn, you roll a Power-Up die in addition to your Move die. This lets you use a signature Mario Kart power-up: If you roll a Green Shell, for example, you’ll cause the player directly in front of you to drop three coins on their space. Any player who passes by those coins can then pick them up. A game of Monopoly Gamer: Mario Kart doesn’t end when you bankrupt the other players. It ends after the final Grand Prix card has been drawn and the last race is run. At that point, players total up all of their points that they got from winning races, buying property, and collecting coins. And then there are the things that are, in the midst of all these major changes, oddly unchanged from vanilla Monopoly. Like jail. There’s still jail. Not, like, Lakitu Jail or anything, just regular jail.

The game includes four tokens: Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad. But unlike your standard race cars and thimbles, not all tokens are created equal in Mario Kart. Each character has a special affinity for one power-up. So for example, if Mario rolls Coins, he can choose to either take three coins or move three more spaces, whereas other players would only get to take the coins. Each player also has a different Super Star ability that they activate when they land on one of the four star spaces.

In case your favorite character isn’t in the box, Hasbro will sell six more player tokens, each with their own unique special moves, separately: Bowser, Rosalina, Shy Guy, Metal Mario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi.

It will release in Japan on July 4th for 3,800 yen (about $36.21 US).

Puyo Puyo --- Cable Accessories

From the popular Puyo Puyo game series comes a selection of Puyo accessories that can be attached to cables! Connect them onto your charger cables, earphones cords or other similar items and enjoy the cute Puyos by your side whenever you like!
