Game Rooms

Post by NintendoHodge » Wed Jul 26, 2017 8:09 pm

Most of you have seen this post on Twitter or Instagram but I wanted to share part of my game-room here. My wife and I just finished it on Monday night and I am very happy with how it all looks. I am hoping to do a game-room tour next week when I am on holidays to show everything.

This piece in particulate I am very happy about because I have wanted a unit like this since I started collecting.

The IKEA 8 box unit cost $10 from a yard-sale. The back piece of wood and paint was about $30. The leather love-seat was about $30 off of Kijiji. The end table on the right was Frankensteined from the TV unit that used to hold the CRT TV. We literally cut it in half and put it back together.

I wanted to insert the image but its GIANT when I do so it's just a link

How did you do that lighting and what did you do for cord management?

I wanted to do cable managment behind the unit but it was going to be a mess. So I ended up getting a piece of wood and painted it white. I then attached it to the unit and cut holes in it for all of the cables to go through. I also attached it to the back of the unit with those velcro pieces.

For the systems themselves the NES is connect to Input 1 and then I have 2 switch boxes for all of the other systems through Input 3 (for some reason input 2 is on the front of the TV)

Wow! That looks really sharp. Nice work. I'll be moving in about a year so I'll be losing the the game room I have now but it will be a great opportunity to start fresh. I'll probably be stealing a few ideas from the pic you shared.
