Same here Myles. Definitely put the ol save state feature to use towards the end of the game. Not my favourite Castlevania but enjoyed it for the most part. Found it frustrating at some points and generally slow. How is this the 4th instalment and he's still walking up stairs sooooo slowly? Like, dude, there are ghosts and crap chasing you. Maybe just run up a flight or two?

Haven't played this yet (I've been quite busy) but I plan on trying to beat it by the end of the month!

Yeah, I know I really need to start on it. I'm actually not quite sure if I'll really get any time to play it before the end of the month though :/

Nice joke by the way xD

I always found it funny how, in AVGN's review of this game, he said the hold the whip and flail it around ability was useless, but I always found a tone of uses for it. It really helps with awkward angles. 'runs into room to desperately try and beat game before end of month and not get caught slacking'

I always claim to be a Castlevania fan but I have only played the Super Nintendo versions a little bit and of the 2 I have played a lot more Dracula X.

I was pretty happy to get an excuse to play this one.

I made good progress and got to level 3 pretty easily.

There is so much to love it feels like a castlevania game, even with the ability to whip at angles and do the weird shakey whip thing. I liked swinging on the rings.

It all had a very familiar feeling but it is very Super Nintendo. The graphics and the the sound, it was making me feel so nostalgic.

Here it is the end of the month and I haven't had a chance to go back and play it. Now I know how good it is I am sure I will continue at some stage.

Well, 2 more days until the end of the month and I still haven't played it yet, I was just way to busy :( The first chance I get I'm going to play it though

I've made it up to 8-2 so far, haven't found the game too difficult until now, with the damn spikes, lol.

For some reason I just can't get into the game. Maybe if I had the original SNES version, I'd be able to concentrate on it a bit more. Using the Wii U gamepad wasn't the best. Good game though.

Also enjoyed the podcast about it immensely.

Time to rejoice. I’ve tried to enjoy the Castlevania games for a while now. Now, today wasn’t my first time playing Super Castlevania IV...but for some reason somethjng about it just clicked with me. Was playing it on my SNES Classic and I started to have fun with it.

I didn’t use Save States or anything. It just...clicked today. Not saying I’m in love with the series, but it’s an improvement.
