Polykill Ep 62: Virtual [Reality] Insanity

So, Brian finally makes his way onto the show and gabs along with Jake and Trav about the games they have all played. The discussion is led by the guest and it's all about Virtual Reality! The fact that this episode is coinciding with Ready Player One's theatrical release is completely coincidental. We're not that smart...

Well it turns out I don't know Jake very well at all. The first clue was when he didn't know the lyrics or guitar riff at all to Bulls on Parade. I'm a dweeby emo indie rock loving guy, but even I knew that screaching guitar slashing riff. Although upon second auditory review, I am thinking maybe he was closer than we all thought - sometimes in my mind I confuse Bulls on Parade with Guerilla Radio. Then came the VR games. Now, I had double dipped in the survey because I was actually worried that Trav wouldn't really enjoy "Waterboy VR: Take Bobby Boucher to the Heisman", but I was pleased to see I really do know my friend, Trav. But I'll be damned if Jake just flat out snubbed my German Death Metal VR sim and told me, oh no, I only like Swedish Death Metal. Well happy Alexander Skarsgard Death Metal to you! Nyet! Mne ne nravitza!

But, I was pleased that my second contributions - Orangutitties and Villanous Vixens of Jackson Plaza - sounded like definite hits in a future episode of Polykill.

Those were some great sabotages in this episode, I think my favorites were Manly Wearables and Hemorrhoid Slime.

I really like hearing HokieBriz's discussion about getting into VR, hearing his excitement, his total rationalization of spending $800 on something other than his wife and kids (golf clap), his geeked out awareness of the ins and outs of all the upcoming games, and just in general his hope for the medium as a whole. (hehe a whole). He was a great guest and his efforts on the JustBeatIts video was truly inspiring. Keep it up boys -- all hell can't stop us now!

Thanks Diego. I was worried I would just be annoying, especially since most people said they weren't really that interested in VR. Good to hear at least you enjoyed the DISCUSH!

Wasn't sure where else to post this and it doesn't go with the newest episode but here's a little piece I wrote about some personal ambitions outside the podcast. Would love some feedback, thanks.

Sorry I meant Off Killter. I got some stuff to say about your crazy ass church boy Brian. He's my kind of deviant.
