Overwatch - D.VA Statue
Blizzard Collectibles has posted pre-orders for a new Overwatch – D.Va Statue. Earlier this year, Blizzard took over production of many of their own collectibles, their first release being a Widowmaker statue. This new entry stands nearly 20″ tall and features the D.Va alongside an armored MEKA unit. The statue will be hand painted and priced at $450 with a release scheduled for the fourth quarter of the year.
Bloodborne - Doll 1/6 Figure
$350. Still with me? Okay, then here we go. Directly form the successful RPG, Bloodborne, Gecco brings us this fantastic 1/6 scale figure dedicated to Doll, the charming servant of Hunter's Dream. At over a foot tall, the figure is incredibly detailed and looks great along side Gecco's previous Bloodborne figure. The scultpwork is by none other than Hiroki Hayashi with strong input by FromSoftware, and it easily pays off. If you're a fan of Bloodborne, and have a few extra bucks lying around, this is an awesome purchase!
Pokémon - Pink and Snivy 1/8 ARTFX J Figure
Directly from the world of Pokémon (and the minds of Kotobukiya) comes this fantastic entry in the ARTFX J Pokémon Figure Series lineup. The piece depicts Pink ('Mei' in Japan) and her Snivy (Tsutarja in Japanese), and stands at 18cm tall. Released for pre-orders on July 4, this $85 figure is selling out quickly!
The Longest 5 Minutes - Limited Edition
NIS America has released details on their latest limited edition runs. This one is for "The Longest 5 Minutes" on the Nintendo Switch. As seen in the image below, this collector's edition will include the game (obviously), as well as a Collector's Box, a set of 4 Lapel Pins and 2-disc Soundtrack complete with Art Booklet. Scheduled to be out next year, if you're a fan of NISA, then this is an awesome little entry in your collection.
Penny-Punching Princess - Limited edition
Continuing on the theme of great NISA releases for the Nintendo Switch comes another cool Limited Edition run of their upcoming game Penny-Punching Princess. This one also comes with a series of Lapel Pins (this time only 2), but also comes with a Sebastian/Coin keychain, a Credit Card USB with the official Soundtrack on it, and the awesome Collector's Gold Bar Box. The game itself looks great, so if you're planning on getting it, you should definitely look into this set!
Tokyo Tattoo Girls - LIMITED EDITION
...And one more from NISA - this time for the PSVita. Tokyo Tattoo Girls, a strategy game set in a post calamity Tokyo, where a bunch of cute girls realize they have special abilities granted to them via the power of getting tattoos. ....Or something. This Limited Edition comes with the game in a Collector's Box, the Official Softcover Art Book and the Original Soundtrack. The usual goodness we've come to expect from NIS America.
Shin Megami Tensei - 25th Anniversary Special Box
Japanese gamers are in for a treat as it has been announced that the Shin Megami Tensei 25th Anniversary Special Box will be releasing with Strange Journey on the Nintendo 3DS. It's priced at about $170, and includes a copy of the game, a 6-CD Rare Soundtrack and Memorial Arranged Tracks, a 208-page 25th Anniversary Artbook and a special collector's box.
Bayonetta - Bayonetta First4Figures Statue
First 4 Figures, makers of high-end officially licensed video game characters, announced last week that they will be working with SEGA and Platinum Games to produce collectibles from the Bayonetta franchise. The announcement doesn’t give much away besides the sounds of Bayonetta walking, some gunfire, and the tagline, “Let’s Dance, Boys!”
No release date, specifics, or pricing were given, but their official YouTube channel mentions to join the First 4 Figures Official Collectors Club to be able to see the progress and get a look behind the scenes. With the figure, a Bayonetta Amiibo releasing on July 21st, and Platinum Games potentially teasing Nintendo Switch ports, it’s a great time to be a fan of this beloved character. You can see the official announcement below.
Touken Ranbu - Nikkari Aoe (1/8 Scale)
Last week we saw the Mikazuki Munechika figure from Japan's famous browser/smartphone game, and this week, we see two more franchise entries! Once again by Orange Rouge, this particular figure is modeled at 1/8 scale, and is based off of Nikkari Aoe, the oowakizashi made by Aoe School of Bicchu. Standing at 21cm tall, this PVC figure went on sale for pre-orders on Thursday at a price of $120. If you're a fan of this game, or were planning on getting the Mikazuki figure from last week, then this is another great addition to the collection.
TOUKEN RANBU - Uguisumaru (Nendoroid Figure)
The 3rd Touken Ranbu figure we're seeing in the past two weeks! While we saw all of these in prototype form earlier this year, it's still surprising to see them all hit pre-orders so close together. Unlike the previous 1/8 scale entries, this one follows the Nendoroid style of figures, and is based on Uguisumaru, one of the oldest 'swords' in the game. And like every Nendoroid, this entry comes with a variety of accessories including his sword, three different facial expressions, a tea platter and an alternate base.
Kirby - 25th Anniversary Lawson Campaign
At 7:00am on July 4, Japanese convenience store, Lawson, launched a Kirby campaign country-wide. By buying two Kirby-branded Ice Cream products (which are awesome in their own right), purchasesrs will also receive one of 3 limited edition Kirby zip-lock pouches. This offers only available until the 17th, so this'll definitely be a hot commodity for fans and collectors!
Street Fighter V - Akuma (1/12 Scale Figure)
Full details and new photos have been released for the upcoming Street Fighter V – Akuma Figure 1/12 Scale Figure. Unfortunately, for fans looking to display him in a more traditional look, the lion mane looks to be a permanent fixture. Akuma will include multiple interchangeable hands, three interchangeable portraits, a Gohadoken effects piece, V-Trigger Dohatsu Shoten effects pieces and a figure stand. Not shown, but also included, is an additional gi with 神人 “Shin” kanji at the back. Storm Collectibles has been killing it with the recent showings of other Street Fighter characters, and Akuma is a welcome addition by fans.
Street Fighter V - Hot Ryu (1/12 Scale Figure)
Storm Collectibles (yet again) has released new photos of the San Diego Comic-Con 2017 Exclusive Street Fighter V – Hot Ryu 1/12 Scale Figure. The figure will be available at the Bluefin booth during the SDCC. Hot Ryu uses a newly sculpted scarred body type. The figure will include three interchangeable head sculpts, three additional sets of interchangeable hands, a Hadouken effects piece and V-Trigger effects pieces. An articulated figure stand with the Street Fighter V logo will also be included.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild - "Master Works" Art Book
Good news for Zelda enthusiasts and collectors as Nintendo has confirmed that it’s currently making a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild art book. As the name suggests, this particular book focusses on the glorious and stylish art that can be found in the latest entry in the series, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. There’s no release date for the sure-to-be-popular art book, but Nintendo UK has shared some images.
marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite - Comic Variants
Back in May, Marvel announced a series of Marvel Vs. Capcom Infinite variant covers will be hitting comic shops throughout the month of August. Marvel have yet to officially reveal what each cover will look like, but it looks like someone got their hands on four copies a bit early. NeoGAF member Harpoon found variant covers for Champions #11 (featuring Zero), All-New Guardians of the Galaxy #7, Hawkeye #9, and Spider-Man/Deadpool #20. No sign of the remaining 16 covers yet.
Fate/EXTELLA - Nero Claudius (1/6 Scale Kimono Ver.)
We've seen quite a few Fate/Grand Order figures hit the pre-order shelves these past few weeks, but this is the first I can recall from Fate/EXTELLA. Based on Nero Claudius, this 1/6 scale figure is based on her Kimono version. Phat Company is known for their amazing sculptwork, and this one's no exception. Modeled after her promotional illustration, this one is sure to be a fan favourite. $128, 19cm tall, PVC/ABS build - everything you'd expect from the company. Pre-orders went live July 6, so hurry!
The Tower of Druaga - YUTAS TShirt Lineup
I continue to be amazed at how popular The Tower of Druaga is on the merchandise front over in Japan. Adding to the pile o' goods, YUTAS has just announced, in partnership with Bandai Namco, 3 new T-Shirt designs that went on sale July 9. The first of these designs is the Hyper Helmet, a treasure found on the 37th Floor. Next up is the "Defeat 3 Green Slimes" motif. And finally, ZAP, which any fan will quickly recognize. These each run at about $40, and there's a high chance they won't be crossing over to North America any time soon.
Dark Souls 3 - Souls of Cinder (1/6 Scale Statue)
Gecco has released a massive 1/6 scale statue of the Souls of Cinder. They worked closely with FromSoftware to ensure the details were completely accurate to the in-game model. The statue stands over 17″ tall and includes the Firelink Greatsword, as well as two swords and a tattered banner that attach to the display base. Also included is a 1/1 scale Ember that includes it own magnetic base. This thing is awesome, and will look awesome beside their Siegmeyer of Catarina statue which was announced last month.
Splatoon 2 - Kirin Mets Grapefruit Bottles
Starting July 11th in Japan, Kirin Mets Grapefruit bottles will have Splatoon 2 themed labels. July 11th will also see an ink splatter design that Kirin will have on their website. As for the bottles, they are 480 ml and cost ¥151, the equivalent of $1.50. The bottles will be available for a limited time only, and stocks are also limited. They will remain until stocks last, or when mid-August arrives. Below is a picture of the bottles, so feel free to check it out.
Pokémon - Happy Meal Toys
Like McDonald’s and Pokémon and live in Japan? Well two out of three ain't bad. Nevertheless, Pokémon toys are coming to Happy Meals! The Pokemon Company and McDonald’s promotion starts this week on July 14th in Japan and will run for approximately three weeks. Check out the glorious and super-cute Pokémon toys, below.
